It was "avant garde" in its time but today this table lamp did not lose its freshness and novelty .Valauris is an artiste center made famous by Picasso when he went to work there.Robert Picault trained at the Paris Ecole des Art Appliqués like Roger Capron and Jean Derval, his future colleagues in Vallauris.In 1945, he moved to Vallauris to found the Atelier Callis with Roger Capron.In 1948, he created his own pottery on the Chemin du Fournas in Vallauris. Here, he began a carrer of an artist. Influenced by his neighbourg Picasso, he invented his personal style: large vases and sets of dishes with a slight crackle effect in relief achieved by the shrinkage of the glaze during firing.SizeH.18 ( without the socket ) ,recently rewired, perfect antique condition .
