They are also mercury-free, unlike less efficient Spiral CFL Bulbs.

Not only are these bulbs cheaper to operate, but they outlast standard bulbs with a 50-Year Life under normal use. This increase is due to the high efficiency of LED technology, which reduces the amount of waste energy that is released as heat.
