Vintage Child Handmade Bib Apron Feed Sack. The front measures 28 1/2" from the top of the bib to the base of the hem and 16 1/2" across the waistband (excluding ties). The bib has two blue buttons to attach the shoulder straps.
This apron has been washed and ironed. Clean and very nice condition. It is without tears or stains and appears only gently used.
The fabric is red cotton with a pattern of white daises and appears like feed or flour sack material. Trimmed with navy blue bias tape.
Using sacks made to carry flour, sugar, chicken feed, grains, rice, and even dog food was popular from the 1920s into the 1940s. Sack were made with lovely patterns so that women could use them to sew clothes for their families.
