The Federal period furniture came on the scene 1785, which was the last part of the 18th Century. By the way, there was (4) periods that changed the way furniture was made forever!!! These are the (4) periods that I craft my reproductions after. Well let me back up a minute actually there was (5). The first period was:
Jacobean Period - (1607-1690)
William & Mary Period - (1690-1725)
Queen Anne Period - (1725-1760)
Chippendale Period - (1760-1785)
Federal Period - (1785-1810)
These are the periods that truly changed the way furniture was made. Some remarkable and amazing styles came from these periods and the craftsman took furniture making to the next level. That's way I chose to reproduce this type of furniture. For it's elegance, craftsmanship and style and I'm sure that you will agree. That's where this Federal Inlay Table came from. I had seen a picture of this table in one of my many books.
The table is built using some OLD Oak that I came across and it also has some beautiful inlay of Tiger Maple and Cocobola. The drawer is dovetailed which made this piece a stunning piece of furniture. This table already looks 50 years old.
It's newly built. That brings me back to the OAK not sure how old but old. It has a few knots and a few small cracks which gives the table great character. That was my idea behind building this table was to make it look old and give it character. The drawer is also oak..
The measurements for this beautiful table are as follows:
15 1/4" Width
15 1/4" Deep.
PLEASE NOTE: I have only (1) of these in stock The rest will be "CUSTOM BUILT" Upon
