1887 Illinois Pocket Watch, Railroader No. 4, No. 705608, 18 Size, 11 Jewels. From what I understand this is the only watch movement that Illinois put a locomotive/train etched on it's movement. I don't think there are many around!
The dial is a 24 hour and appears to have blue spade hands. The watch is lever set, full plate gilt movement, with the locomotive and coal car etched or engraved on it. (see the photos), Chalmers Pat. The dial also has Illinois Watch Company under the Roman/Arabic numbers and appears to be in pretty nice condition from what I can see through the crystal. The watch winds and runs.
The case is marked Fahys No.1 Conqueror, has normal wear for it's age. I do not see any major dings or dents. The case snaps and closes well. Has a pretty floral patten. Since this is a Senior's Treasure, I am selling it as is.
