Antique 1905 London Needle Co. Maresh Bros. Iowa City Needle Set Advertisement Card

> Specialty needle set from 1905 was given out with compliments of Maresh Bros (successors to Maresh & Holubar), 212-214 Washington St., Iowa City, IA
> Front cover has a color image of a young couple in period attire, ice skating together while holding hands
> Inside, the left side is printed with a 1905 calendar and has a set of 15 assorted specialty needles that are held neatly in place by blue fabric
> The specialty needle types are printed, e.g., "Glove or Fur Needle," "Shoe Button Needle," etc., and the set is complete with all 15 needles
> Attached on the lower left side of the inside is a small decorative paper lift envelope that is made of purple paper with gold stars and a colorful foil cover, containing 14 Superior Silver Steel Gold Ey'd Sharps needles
> The inside right hand side is printed with two poems about the "dismay and disaster" that can result from using "some cheap roofer" and how spending a little more for good, lasting work is never to be rued
> Back has an advertisement for stoves & ranges, along with an image of a woman standing near a flagship stove model of the day
> Card is marked that it was printed by the London Needle Co., Adv. Dept., 112 East 125th St., N.Y.
> Card measures 5.25 x 4 inches when folded closed and 5.25 x 8 inches when open

CONDITION: Excellent, with normal age-related darkening of the paperboard, but no writing, markings, tears, rips, stains or splits. The needle set is complete. All printing is crisp and clear. The image on the front cover is still distinct, although the colors have softened over the years. The specialty needles are in varying condition, some are in mint condition, and others have minor age-related corrosion, as may be expected given their age. The sharps are in excellent condition.
