Offered is abeautiful antique majolica plate made by VILLEROY & BOCH majolica factory in the Schramberg, Germany factory.
The impressed makers mark of VB/S in a circle dates this plate to have been produced between 1883-1895.
This stunning antique majolica plate features a light blue rococo border with medalions, anchus leaves and basket weave going into an intaglio center with a little boy and girl playing with a tree branch and picking a pear.
It has a high gloss and deep, rich colors!!!All white spots you see are from camera light, not chips.
It is in excellent condition for its great age with no chips, cracks or repairs!! There are a few tinsy glaze flakes that you can feel with the finger but are not noticable and normal for a piece this old.
The back has stilt marks from the kiln to attest to its age. This plate is as close to perfect as you can find!!!
It measures 7.75 inches in diameter.
It is well marked on the back with the model number 736, the size number 7 and the makersmark V&B/S in a circle.
