FACTUAL REPRESENTATION OF OUR WESTERN TREASURES Folks, simply put – Naco, Arizona main claim to fame came about from an incident sometime in 1929. Seems that the Mexican leaders of Sonora, were cross ways with the powers in Mexico City. A picture of some of the rebels in included here. Since Naco, Arizona was the gateway to Mexico, it became a military target. There were turbulent times in Mexico and the citizens of the town were always on the alert. They were not prepared, however, when a WW I military airplane flown by a Soldier of War named Murphy, took off and bombed the wrong Naco. Instead of Mexico, the pilot bombed a site in the Arizona town (a picture of a car his bomb hit is pictured below). Frankly, he was a better pilot than a bombardier and the contact-fused artillery shells fitted with tail fins were of little consequence and damage. His bombs also hit a box car sitting near the Southern Pacific Railway Depot. The accidental bombing didn’t create much of an international incident, and, other than this story, thee seems tobe verified record of the further doing of Murphy the flyer. However, it actually happened. The story is entitled: NACO, ARIZONA’S ACCIDENTAL PLACE IN HISTORY and the author C. O. Peterson who spent twenty years as a member of the U. S. Forest Service makes for a delightful read of an incident of history. There were many a western story published – the common ones about Cowboys and Indians are listed on eCRATER every day but the rarer ones about the little towns of the old west like this one are seldom found. Collectors treasure them and their price guide value rises every day. They are hard to find. I hunt them out because really the better, untold and rarer stories were published in the rest. Here’s one of ‘em. FOLLOWING PURCHASE AND PAYMENT, IF YOU WILL WRITE ME OF YOUR SPECIAL NAME OR INTEREST, I WILL DO A FREE SEARCH OF MY COLLECTION AND UNINDEXED STORIES AND NAMES. TOM RUSSELL COLLECTIONFor more Information Please Visit:The Tom Russell CollectionIF I FIND SOMETHING THAT I THINK MERITS YOUR INTEREST, I WILL WRITE A REVIEW AND PLACE IT ON eCRATER AND GIVE YOU NOTICE AND A HEAD START TO BUYITNOW! Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western pioneers. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell. This complete index will be bound and included in this offering at no additional cost. Humbly, I am trying to keep our history alive I hope you appreciate the effort. Folks, sooner or later – Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer’s dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it’s worth all the time I spend. As a tribute to the honor of our American Indians, my indexed listings will include all Indian names mentioned in the story from this time on NACO, ARIZONA’S ACCIDENTAL PLACE IN HISTORY By C. O. Peterson BIZARRE EXCITEMENT IN NACO MEMORABILIA IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING While others clip ads from magazines, I save history. It’s a shame that our past is being lost. It’s as simple as that. My wife kids me that after I find a piece I like, buy it, read it, research it, take a picture, scan it, write the blurb, pay the eCRATER entry fee and commission, that I end up making about 50 cents an hour. But, OH HOW I LOVE THIS OLD WESTERN HISTORY. What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was published in this old complete western magazine printed on heavy slick paper many years ago. The issue is in good condition, the cover is in vibrant color. As clearly stated in my description, this is featured story in a rarely found and seldom read unusual and complete western magazine. I don't give out name of publication or date because I have caught competitors copying my index and work and trying to sell it as theirs. I hope you understand. Buyer pays postage of $3.50 Media Mail to U. S.; $5.00 Priority; $12.30 for International Mail. Texans must pay 8-¼ % sales tax.
