Folks, sooner or later - Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer's dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it’s worth all the time I spend. I was lucky to find this one because most of the great stories of the West are fading away. They have been gathering moss on dusty shelves, laid for years on attic floors, packed away in boxes or molding in damp cellars - unread and unseen. Humbly, I have tried to resurrect our great American Western Heritage and present them through this internet media to those that might appreciate them.Because these old westerns were published before indexing and our kinfolks are lying on some book dealer's shelf, I index every story published. I hope you appreciate the effort. As many of you know, I specialize in finding old western stories of long ago that have been overlooked, seldom found and rarely read. Here is "When Women Held the Whip Hand," by Glenn Shirley with a picture and story of the famous woman outlaw Belle Starr riding sidesaddle in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1886. She is carrying a rawhide riding quirt with which she lashed a newspaper correspondent for his half-truths and scurrilous remarks. Look at the holster on the right side. How convenient for a sidesaddler!! What a beautiful piece for your coffee table. The author found newspapers reports of scores of similar incidents in the decades after Belle's and has included some of them in this story. I JUST LOVE TO FIND THIS GREAT OLD FORGOTTEN WESTERN HISTORY. My wife kids me that after I find a piece I like, buy it, read it, research it, take a picture, scan it, write the blurb, pay the eCRATER fee and commission, that I end up making about 50 cents an hour. But, OH HOW I LOVE THIS OLD WESTERN HISTORY. What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Picture. You will love it as it was published in this old western magazine of many years ago. The issue is in excellent condition, the cover is pristine and in vibrant color. Buyer pays postage of $3.50 First Class Postage to U. S.$4.50 to Canada, $4.60 Priority Mail, $10.00 International First Class Mail. Texans must pay 8 ¼% sales tax.
