THE BOY IN THE WINDOW UNBELIEVABLE STORY – PICTURE – LINCOLN’S FUNERAL PROCESSION TEDDY ROOSEVELT MEMORABILIA IS RAPIDLY DISAPPEARING Folks, look very closely at the picture that I have furnished because it is large and I want you to see it. It is one of the most remarkable photos that I have ever seen. There is a black arrow beneath the second story window pointing to two children who are witnessing a funeral procession. It is a rarely found and seldom seen photograph of Lincoln’s Funeral Procession taken on April 25, 1865. The two boys in the window were Theodore Roosevelt, the future 26th President of the United States at the tender age of seven years and his brother, Elliott Roosevelt (father of Eleanor Roosevelt, future wife of the 33rd President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt). The text accompanying the story “The Boy in the Window,” by Stefan Loran, includes part of an interview with Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt and a photo of her examining and confirming the amazing photo. The home where the boys were watching belonged to their grandfather, Cornelius van Shaack Roosevelt, and the shot was taken from the southwest corner of 14th Street, New York City. Mrs. Roosevelt told of being taken to that same house by her governess so she could watch the funeral procession and the reason she didn’t get to watch it. Please read this. There were many an American Politial story published – the common ones are listed on eCRATER every day but the rarer ones showing a picture of a photo like this one are seldom found. Collectors treasure them and their price guide value rises every day. They are hard to find. I hunt them out because really the better, untold and rarer stories were published in the rest. Here’s one of ‘em. Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western pioneers. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf gathering dust. Because Old Political History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell. This complete index will be bound and included in this offering at no additional cost. Humbly, I am trying to keep our history alive. I hope you appreciate the effort. It’s a shame that our past is being lost. It’s as simple as that. My wife kids me that after I find a piece I like, buy it, read it, research it, take a picture, scan it, write the blurb, pay the eCRATER entry fee and commission, that I end up making about 50 cents an hour. But, OH HOW I LOVE THIS OLD AMERICAN POLITICAL HISTORY. What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was published in this old complete American hard cover magazine of more than 50 years ago. The issue is in good condition, there is some wear on the corners but the cover picture is in vibrant color. As clearly stated in my description, this is featured story in a rarely found and seldom read unusual and complete American hard cover magazine. I don't give out name of publication or date because I have caught competitors copying my index and work and trying to sell it as theirs. I hope you understand. Buyer pays postage of $3.50 Media Mail to U. S., Priority Mail at $4.75. $11.00 Par Avion (Air Mail) for International Mail. Texans must pay 8-¼ % sales tax.
