FACTUAL REPRESENTATION NOT RETREAD HISTORY TRAIN ROBBERY By Richard Patterson Folks, the author has done a remarkable research on his subject “Train Robbery” from the first in 1866 till the last in 1930. In between, he names (and I have indexed all of them below) the train robbers and their gangs, the Railroads that were the subject of the holdups along with those that sometimes thwarted the robbers. Unfortunately, the great pictures of armed guards, messengers and engineering crew were not identified but if you look close, you might find your granddaddy there! And, of course, the lawmen who, eventually, stopped train robberies in the old west. Here is the story entitled TRAIN ROBBERY and author Richard Patterson shows his expertise in the subject of railroad and those that robbed ‘em. There were many a western story published – the common ones about Cowboys and Indians are listed on eCRATER every day but the rarer ones devoted exclusively to the train robberies of the Old West are seldom found. Collectors treasure them and their price guide value rises every day. They are hard to find. I hunt them out because really the better, untold and rarer stories were published in the rest. Here’s one of ‘em. FOLLOWING PURCHASE AND PAYMENT, IF YOU WILL WRITE ME OF YOUR SPECIAL NAME OR INTEREST, I WILL DO A FREE SEARCH OF MY COLLECTION AND UNINDEXED STORIES AND NAMES. TOM RUSSELL COLLECTIONFor more Information Please Visit:The Tom Russell CollectionIF I FIND SOMETHING THAT I THINK MERITS YOUR INTEREST, I WILL WRITE A REVIEW AND PLACE IT ON eCRATER AND GIVE YOU NOTICE AND A HEAD START TO BUYITNOW! Following my retirement, I have dedicated my remaining hours to indexing the Genealogy of our western heroes. During my research, I discovered that thousands of our kinfolk lay unfound and unrecognized on some book dealer’s shelf gathering dust. Because Old Western History and Memorabilia was printed before computer indexing, I index every item I sell. This complete index will be bound and included in this offering at no additional cost. Humbly, I am trying to keep our history alive. I hope you appreciate the effort. TRAIN ROBBERY By Richard Patterson Folks, sooner or later – Genealogists are going to realize that their family kinfolks are laying on some dealer’s dusty shelves. If I can contribute to finding one little name or photo of that long lost ancestor you have been waiting to find, it’s worth all the time I spend. As a tribute to the honor of our American Indians, my indexed listings will include all Indian names mentioned in the story from this time on ANCESTORS INDEXED HEREIN, CIRCA: 1866 – 1933 era ANCESTOR’S LOCATION: UNITED STATESGENEALOGY NAMES INDEXED w * INDICATING PICTURE: BASS, Sam – leader of many raids on train robberies BURROUGHS, Rube – famous bank robber and leader of his gang CODY, William “Wild Bill Buffalo” – Exhibited in shows titled “The Great Train Robberies” and “Bandit Hunters of the Union Pacific” EDISON, Thomas – World famous inventor who chose the subject of a train robbery as his first movie EVANS, Chris – one of member of train robbery gang HAMPTON, Wade – United States Commissioner of Railroads JAMES GANG – legendary figures of the old west JENNINGS, Al – Lawyer-turned-train robber – Native of Oklahoma who, later turned to making movies after a term in prison for train robbery KNIGHT, John T. – Army Lieutenant who came up with plans of putting the express car on the end of the train. It’s a shame that our past is being lost. It’s as simple as that. My wife kids me that after I find a piece I like, buy it, read it, research it, take a picture, scan it, write the blurb, pay the eCRATER entry fee and commission, that I end up making about 50 cents an hour. But, OH HOW I LOVE THIS OLD WESTERN HISTORY. What a story, Rare Story!!! Great Pictures. You will love it as it was published in this old complete and seldom found western magazine of many years ago. The issue is in excellent condition, the cover is pristine and in vibrant color. As clearly stated in my description, this is featured story in a rarely found and seldom read unusual and complete western magazine. I don't give out name of publication or date because I have caught competitors copying my index and work and trying to sell it as theirs. I hope you understand. Buyer pays postage of $3.50 Media Mail Postage to U. S., $4.50 to Canada. $5.00 Priority Mail. $12.30 Par Avion (Air Mail) for International Mail. Texans must pay 8-¼ % sales tax.
