This flower is a descendant of wild plants from the eastern US. The state flower of Maryland, easy to grow quickly from seed. This is a tough, easy to grow plant that thrives in full sun and any soil except soggy soil. Excellent showy cut flower, good for cutting and brightens summer & autumn borders. Easily reseeds.
Attracts bees, butterflies and birds. Great protection for garden pests!
This flower is happy and very tolerant of various conditions. Sow seeds once temps are around 65 and germination is in about 10-14 days.
This flower will reseed itself! Cut it back when there are dried seedheads & it will continud to re grow through fall.
Beautiful for cut floral arrangements & it dries easily to add to wreaths and potpourri.
