As with all used books or magazines there is a possibility of ripped or torn pages, spots or stains, discoloring of the pages over time, pen, pencil or highlighted marks on the pages, previous owners name or marks, creases, bends on the pages and or covers, binding coming loose. And then, I hope, I did not miss something as well. Also I can not tell what kind of environment the books come from, although we do wipe them down and dust them off however there is always a possibility of the books having a smokers smell, wood stove smell, musky order and such. Now my sniffer is not the best so I will have a hard time telling you if the book has an smell to it, unless it is really strong.
All items should be cleaned to your standards before use.
