Sunflowers are one of the BEST flowers to attract beneficial insects, butterflies & bees and repel garden pests. Besides being super easy to grow, they are beautiful and kids love them! They attract beneficial insects such as lady beetles, soldier bugs, assassin bugs and predatory wasps. These beneficial insects will eat the pests that ruin flowers, veggies & herbs.
Sunflowers also will attract aphids away from your tomato plants. Plant them far away & the aphids will go to the sunflowers & leave your tomatoes alone!Yu will see ants if you have aphids. Take some orange peel, dry it and cut it up to put around the base of the flowers. Ants do not like the citrus smell.

Can be used as a natural screen for privacy or to hide your garbage can, etc. Very easy to grow.
Sunflowers love full sun-be sure to water well when seedlings-don't let them dry out. Once the root system is established, water requirements are less.
