In the town of We, there live some strange and wonderful characters. Because, you see, the town of We is inhabited by people of all sorts, and all of them have one thing in common -- they have weird eyes. (Hence, the name of the town.)
There are lots of performers in the town of We, and one of the most beloved is Marcel the Mime.
Marcel began life as Bob, but when he was very young he saw Marcel Marceau in an old movie reel, and he immediately began to mime everything he did. His parents were very angry with him, because Bob (or Marcel, as he began to call himself) wouldn't speak to them any more. Never a word. He just kept playing charades (or so they thought, not realizing that he was learning to be a mime). They tried everything to get him to speak to them, but he wouldn't say anything, even when they tried tickling him to make him laugh out loud or jumping out at him from the closets to try to scare him and make him scream.
Nope, Marcel never speaks. He's very gifted now, after all his years of practice, and he's actually quite easy to understand. Why, you should see him down at the local diner ordering a hamburger with no mayo!
