Miscellaneous Santas and Mrs. Santas, Eclectic Group for Sure!
The group I'm listing now is part of the extensive collection of a very talented lady in Tulsa who loved Christmas and decorated enthusiastically for many years. She has moved into assisted living and had to dispose of many of her treasures. I am helping to find them good homes!
What has impressed me most is how meticulously she kept track of her tiny treasures as she added them. Each piece is noted with the date she bought it on the bottom (you'll see this in many of the pictures) and then recorded carefully in a loose-leafed notebook.
She bought many pieces new but a great many more of them she found at estate sales in the area...which means they pre-date even the date she gave them. This explains why some of the things I'll be listing I've found to be quite in the vintage category!
Where I have been able to find information on issue dates (especially on the houses) I'm including that; if you collect these pieces you may know far more than I do!
What I've found in putting these items together is that I have overlooked a very, very charming part of the joy of decorating for Christmas...I've been delighted...and chuckled... and oh'd and ah'd...as I've sorted through them!
I hope you find something here you've been looking for, or something you'll fall in love with, and the traditions this sweet lady enjoyed for so many years will continue to bring happiness! These pieces didn't seem to fit anywhere else, so they got a group of their own! Three of these are the flocked variety that used to be so popular years ago, one Santa dancing, another atop some blocks, and a Mrs. Santa skating to pass the time. There is one very tiny rubbery Santa that manages to pack a lot of personality into a tiny body!
The large piece is a mystery...she looks for all the world like an AnnaLee creation but I wasn't able to find her on any website that had the older pieces. I think the styrofoam base was probably added by the former owner...who knows? She could use a bit of sprucing up! Since I can't authenticate anything on this, if she turns out to be an AnnaLee, you can be thrilled...and I'll be thrilled she has a home!
There have been lots of styles in Santas over the years...this will give you a small variety to make you smile!
