Offered is a second issue of 2 different stamps which mark the 40th day of the death of former President Corazon "Cory" Aquino. A second issue was released because the first issue was sold overnight. In the second issue, the position of the "7p" inscriptions have changed and are now adjacent in the setenant pair. Aquino is considered as the "democracy icon" of the Philippines responsible for the removal of the dictatorship of President Marcos in 1986 through People Power Revolution. People power revolution is a peaceful, non-violent means through people demonstration of removing unwanted leaders. It has been used as a model and used by other countries to restore democracy in their countries. One of the stamps feature a portrait of Cory Aquino with a stretched arm and the hand showing the "L sign" which stands for "laban" (which means "fight" in Filipino). The stamps are mint, and in excellent condition.
