This pair of old ceramic pottery Indian head salt & pepper were made in Japan and have the Red Japan mark on the bottoms. They date from the 1930's. One has the original cork, and one will be provided with a new cork. They appear to have never been used and do not have any nicks, chips, cracks, repairs or crazing. The paint is a matt finish and their is no wear to the paint finish but rather they were painted in a spray or sponge finish, so the paint would look speckled. On the back of each piece is a black ink stamp with the numbers 25 in a circle. This is the original price, 25 cents each, and this shows that each piece could be bought seperately. This is one of the oldest Indian head salt & pepper sets I have ever seen. Each is 3" tall x 1 3/4" wide.
