One of a number of hand-carved, folk art figures found in the barn of a century old Wisconsin farm. Unsigned, and undated, the family guessed they dated to the early 1940's and were made for children's play.
This is the whitetail deer. It is painted dark brown with white underbelly and chest patch. (There are some stray paint spots on his legs.)
He features blue bead eyes and leather ears and tail which have been painted white. He is 7 1/2" H, 6" L and 2 1/4" W.
Marvelous example of primitive folk art! Check our other listings for more folk art toys from this old Wisconsin farm.
