Black and White print, framed, of an old photogaph of a steam engine or locomotive.
5001 is on the engine several times, but I do not know where this train was located. In this picture it appears to be at some sort of loading station, tall structure in the back with what appears to be ladders around the outside and a chute for loading. Engine has a bell mounted on the front. The print does have a curved crease on the car attached to the engine, almost 1" long; it is thin and can't be noticed in certain light.
Print was framed by Varsity Art Store Prints & Framing, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Located near the Mpls campus of the University of MN. GL 2179 is also stamped. The paper back is intact all around, but there are a couple of areas that have been dented, one larger on the left is through but not 'loose'. Wire hanger on the back, a metal screw hook attached to the frame on either side. The frame is in good shape with very minor corner and edge wear.
Outside of frame measures 8 3/8 in. long and is 5 3/8 in. wide. Frame sides are 1/2 inch wide and bevel in toward the glass. I am unsure of the age of either the framed print or the train engine and I am assuming this is an art print from an old photo. This would be wonderful for the train enthusiast, and I'm sure someone out there knows the history.
