This is a particularly lovely collector plate entitle “Roses” by the artist Lena Liu. It is the first issue in the Lena Liu’s Basket Bouquets plate collection. The back of the plate says “Based on an original painting on silk and now realized on fine porcelain. The edition is strictly limited to a maximum of 150 firing days.” Also it says “Pink is one of my favorite colors, and delicate roses offer nature’s most brilliant expression of its subtlety and softness”. This plate is “not for food use”.
The logo circle says “W. L. George Fine China” on the back of the plate, and I think this is the trademark for the W. S. George Company (not sure)? The plate was produced for the Bradford Exchange.
The plate measures about 8 ¼ inches across. It is in excellent condition. The white styrofoam box is included. I do not have the certificate of authenticity or any paperwork for this plate. The box is in very good condition, and the plate name “Roses” is hand written in ink in a couple of places on the box. The original Bradford Exchange shipping label is still attached.
This plate came from a large private collection that I just acquired, which includes collector plates of many types and many manufacturers. The plates from this collection have been stored away, and because they are in such great condition I wonder if they were ever displayed? I will be offering these other plates separately, and I invite you to check my other eCRATER store items for these.
