For sale is an outstanding 3 piece silver over copper teaset made by the E. G. Webster & Son company of New York. This set dates between 1886-1928. It is marked with E G W & S, each letter inside a box. There is a good photo of the hallmark.
All 3 pieces are completely covered with a fabulous repousse pattern of florals, swags, festoons, acanthus leaves, and cupids. I can't say enough good things about the set. Each piece is in remarkable condition. There are no gouges or holes. A tiny bit of the copper is showing underneath the silver plate on the repousse, but it just attests to the age of the set. The bottoms of the pieces have some scuff marks from usage. Please see all the photos.
The teapot holds 5 cups. It is 8" to the top of the finial and 8 3/4" from spout to handle. The sugar is 5" tall and 7 1/2" from handle to handle. The creamer is 5" tall and 5 3/4" from spout to handle. It has some residual gilt on the inside of it. The teapot and the sugar were not gilt.
US SHIPPING INCLUDES INSURANCE.
