This one in particular has extra beading all over which goes to show how much energy was put into this. Few tapestries or wall hangings evoke such reactions of delight as the Beaded Sari Indian tapestry. Created by rural women folk in western and northwest India, these wall hangings are created through a selection of harmonious vintage textile patches (usually vintage beaded wedding dresses) that are arranged in a random or ordered fashion creating an amazing kaleidoscope of colors as a visual delight. Each of the patches are adorned with extensive patterns of sequins, beads, discs & Zardozi work. The art of Zardozi embroidery uses gold wire (zari). The process of making the gold wire (zari) is extremely intricate and involves heating the gold wire and a silver bar in the furnace to form an alloy. Gold-coated silver wire is extruded from this alloy and this wire when wrapped around a silk thread forms zari. The other side of the entire Tapestry / Throw is lined with Orange linen lining that protects the intricate embroidery, sequin & bead work. The sparkling embellishments in gold & silver will lend a spectacularly ethnic look and add style to your room. Small patterns take days to finish. Large, extensive patterns are completed over weeks.
