This is the rarely seen tall form of the Blue Bush Sage, a robust, shrubby plant native to Guatemala. Salvia urica is an attractive herbaceous plant that blooms from late summer onwards. Both stems and leaves are covered with white hairs, making them soft to the touch. The flowers are small, but a deep, rich, blue-violet held in greenish-blackish calyces. Deltoid, green, aromatic leaves. Hardy from zone 9 upwards. 6 feet tall and wide. Full sun to part shade. Any average garden soils. Regular water. Hard-to-find seeds, harvested 12/2011.
