Pulling this out of storage and trying to recall when it was purchased, my best guess is sometime in the early 1960's. This is a Tropic-Aire Hair Dryer manufactured by the McGraw-Edison Company, Bersted Mfg Division, Boonville, Mo. USA. - Model 38102 - 115 volts and 60 cycle. The chrome still gleams, has Hot and Cold settings, non-polarized plug and it comes with its' original box and guarantee tag.
NOTE: This is NOT meant to be sold with the intentions of using it as an everyday hair dryer unless you plan on hooking it up to a Chevy 327 engine, as the power is no-where near the power of today's hair dryers. Unless you know how to boost the power in this unit, our belief is this is more suitable for someone who collects vintage hair dryers or small appliances.
