Remarkable publication from the team of Jim Vadeboncoeur, Al Davoren and Bud Plant. The most noteable feature, however, is undoubtedly the 32 pages devoted to Robert Crumb. These pages contain a long interview and a nice selection of rarely seen art (including "Roberta Smith, Office Girl" strips). From the introduction to this section:
"The few articles and things written about Robert left Al [Davoren] with a feeling of frustration, as none has ever come close to expressing Al's impression of him. So he decided to do something about it. What follows is the transcript of a conversation Al had with Robert on August 6, 1972. It was not a formal interview, but an actual conversation in which Al tried to steer the subject matter onto a chronological trip along Robert's career. We believe that it will answer most of your questions."
There's lots more in this volume, of course, including a fold-out cover by Robert Williams and comix and art by George Metzger, Frank Brunner, Clifford Neal AKA Oisif Egaux, Victor Moscoso (fold-out centerspread), Trina Robbins, Keith Kleespies, Vince Davis ("Myron Moose"), Bob Inwood, Davoren, Alex Nino and others.
