High Frontiers #1 (Paperback) by R.U. Sirius and Somerset Mau Mau
The magazine that started the entire consciousness movement! That's right, this is the newsprint First Edition version of the magazine High Frontiers that would later transmogrify into Reality Hackers and then Mondo 2000, the celebrated magazine for petulant cyberpunks. These are so collectible that only a very few are known to exist. That's how collectible these things are!! Recently uncovered while moving a beercan pyramid, we have four available in good condition. Some Mondo 2000 magazines are also available. Mau Mau also has a few copies of his CD Naked Psychics - Funny Tunes / Funny Times, available to those who know but do not say so. Huh? You can do the research. It's in the literature.
Background: The TRUE History of High Frontiers Magazine. Mild mannered reporter Somerset Mau Mau was quetly living his life in Marin County California when he answered an ad in a local newspaper. A fellow named R.U. Sirius was requesting help in putting together a psychedelic magazine. Well, Somerset knew a lot about that subject. As a matter of fact, he had a PhD in DMT . To make a long story short - yet ultimately satisfying - Mau Mau hooked up with R.U. Sirius to help him create High Frontiers, the Space Age Newspaper of Psychedelics, Science, Human Potential, Irreverance and Modern Art. The first issue was a knock-out collection of interviews with psychenauts, wierd reviews, parodies of stuff and etc. All but a few copies of the First Edition were given away in an effort to tweak the paradigm. I guess it worked. If you are a Sirius collector, you NEED this issue of High Frontiers. These are the only original copies of this ground-breaking project left. So put down that latte, fire up the bong and get ready for a flashback that will blow your mind!
