The restoration was done to a high quality and this certainly is a number one car. The car itself is exceptionally rare especially with the D500 option. The top is black cloth and the car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, automatic transmission, radio and heater. It comes with the optional swing out front seats. The car would probably do very well at the Barrett-Jackson auction or any of the other high level auctions around the country. I am not a big fan of no-reserve auctions and I am not looking for an over-the-top price. Just a fair price. The reserve will be kept confidential but I will consider offers.
The car has only been driven 72 miles since the restoration. As far as I know the only flaw in the car that I have noticed is that the windshield has a very small de-lamination in the upper right corner. Otherwise it is perfect. There is a small chip below the ignition switch where the trunk key has hit the dash. Easily fixed. One of the visor hooks above the rear-view mirror is missing. It was there when I purchased the car but somehow it has been misplaced. I will supply it. The tires are Coker Radials and of course the wire wheels are the correct replacements for the Kelsy Hays type that were used in the 50's. The car came with a set of 59 Dodge Custom Royal Spinner Wheel Covers in a box that goes with the car. They are used but could be restored. This is one of 984 Custom Royal Lancer convertibles made in 1959. The paint code is X X1 which is the code for white. The trim code is S79 which is the code for red and black swing out front seats. This car was originally built with the standard 361 Cubic Inch V-8 and one four bbl. carb. The gentelman who I purchased the car from and commissioned this frame-off restoration wanted to restore this car and convert it to a full Super D500 configuration correct down to every little detail. This involved finding a correct 383 Cubic Inch engine and the correct manifolds. This was done and it now has everything that would have come on an original Super D500. The engne block number is ML 383 7991. The valve covers on these cars were originally black and the air cleaners were painted gold. The former owner thought the chrome looked much better. They could be changed back easily. There is a photo alblum of the restoration that goes with the car. The reason I am selling this car is that I am down-sizing my collection. Too many projects and cars to maintain. If you have any questions or desire more pictures, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Allen Faltus at 509 856 7857. If no answer, please leave a message and I will call you back. If calling from outside the US or Canada, I will not be able to return the calls but leave a message and I will try to be available at a reasonable Pacific Daylight Time. The car is available, with an appointment, for inspection.
