I started with cutting out a copper disc. then I created a frame for my finished enamel using Argentium Sterling Silver Wire and Sheet metal.
Then I 'drew' my design using Fine Silver Cloisonne Wire.
Once I had my design laid out I filled the spaces in with Powdered enamel (flows to solid glass), essentially 'painting' my colors in.
In this piece the green section has 10k gold foil below the transparent green enamel. This gives a brilliant texture color.
Once my color is laid in I fire the piece at 1500 degrees, until the glass softens and flows. It takes several firings to fill the spaces and get the color just right.
The result is this stunning Jewel of a necklace pendant.
It is simply gorgeous.
The enamel is 1 inch in diameter, once the frame in factored in it is a smidge larger - about a quarter inch.
This pendant will come on a sterling silver chain unless you contact me for a different option.
