Set of Bisque porcelain figurines with a colonial look.
Hand painted in sutble color costumes of green, brown, yellow, pink, and lavender.
Mat gold trim on man’s cuffs and lady’s scooped neckline.
Made as courtship couple in Occupied Japan.
This places the time period between 1945 and 1952 and was probably from the earlier occupied years.
Figures measure 6” tall on a 2” base.
Female figure has a bubble defect on nose, that probably happened during firing and went unnoticed due to the small size giving it an appearance of a pug nose.
Wonderful for that Rustic or Early American style home.
Very good coloring and in excellent, as new condition.
Rarely handled, never damaged, well preserved examples of this post ww2 period.
Kept out of direct sunlight and closed off from dusty room air these two have spent all their time is a closed glass door 1949 custom made china cabinet on display.
More from this china cabinet and the family estate collection coming very soon.
We looked these over and didn't see any other noticeable flaws.
There may be some very minor marks or blemishes that we missed.
But we did not see any other than what we listed even upon very close inspection.
