" LITTLE WHITE GIRL "
by James McNeill Whistler (1834-1903).
Whistler was born on 11 July, 1834, Lowell, MA. In 1851, he entered the United States Military Academy at West Point, studying art under Robert W. Weir. In 1855 he sailed for Europe to study art. The original painting after this print was taken show the Scottish writer Thomas Carlyle.
His most known painting is “Arrangement in Grey and Black: The Artist's Mother“, famous under its colloquial name “Whistler's Mother.”
James McNeill Whistler died on 17 July 1903, London.
The print is in excellent condition due to being stored flat with light age toning. Printed on quality stock paper.Never been framed.
