Vintage 1940’s Hutchinson, Kansas, “The Women’s Civic Center Cook Book”, published by the Women’s Civic Center Club, Hutchinson, Ks. I do not see a date on this cookbook, however, it came from the same local estate as another 1940’s Hutchinson, Ks. recipe book that I am offering separately in my store, and I estimate that this one is also from the 1940’s. This book contains several black and white printed advertisements, along with the recipes. Some of the advertisements include: Probate Judge James Rexroad, The Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce, The A & A Rexall Drug Store, Betts Baking Company, Wiley’s Dry Goods Co., Meriden Creamery Company, and many more. The Central State Bank advertisement on the back cover is interesting, and shows another days and age with the statement “all deposits insured for $10,000”. This recipe book measures about 9” by about 6”, and has about 166 pages. It has a paper front and back cover. The cook book is in nice vintage used condition, with some stains and soil, some age yellowing, and a tiny bit of edge and corner wear and tear, and some tiny creases. There are some dark stains on the front along the edge (see photos), and a tear at the top of the bound edge.
