Bright red (slightly orangish) silk scarf printed with bulging squares filled with dots. The print is masculine enough that the scarf is appropriate for men or women. It is 20 inches square. Condition is used very vintage but has only one problem that I can see and that is a pin head sized hole in the very center. That may have been from the wear of the fold over the years or from having been pinned. There are no other holes or wear spots. Lovers of old Liberty scarves will appreciate this one.
This is a very old silk scarf. It is not marked. It feels and looks like an old Liberty of London scarf and at one time they only marked their scarves with a small tag sewn into the hem. Kreier of Switzerland also marked their scarves in a similar fashion. If these are removed there is no identifying mark left. If I had to guess I'd say this is a Liberty. Same fabric, machine stitched hem and after handling as many scarves as I have, scarves tend to introduce themselves.
The close up photo looks orange. The scarf is red with orange tones but definitely not orange.
