This is a new venture for me. My sister mentioned seeing decorated tree swing seat at a crafts festival she visited recently and suggested I should do some of them.
Me, being a artist, wanted to see just what I could do with her suggestion- and this is what I came up with.
I first did a Blue wash on the upper part to represent the sky. The bottom half is grey to represent concrete on the track. I then added the Little Ice Cream Racer. Oh so cute! This would be loved by any young child.
It is sealed with outside Sand and Sealer, 2 coats. They have been routed and sanded for smooth edges.
I am not going to include the ropes or hangers of any kind. I will leave that up to you-since I have no idea how much anyone would need anyway. But once you get the rope you choose, they can be hung on a sturdy tree branch, or any other sturdy structure- and will provide lots of "fun time" for the children.
~~~~~I just want to do the decorative seats!
It has 2 - 3/4 inch holes drilled for the rope to go down thought the top of the hole and under to the other side. The material is treated 1 &1/2 inch pine lumber. It is 18 inches long and 6 inches wide
PLEASE NOTE: occasionally you might see tiny superficial cracks in the wood- but that is not a problem with being sturdy and secure. Wood does this over time.
I plan to use 8 inch lumber on the next ones I do and make it with 4 holes for more stability. These are just my tester model. I will also be listing a Ladybug one, take a few minutes to look at it also.
