For those of you who may be interested, here is a little about me and how I came to paint angels. my name is Laurra Lu Hajicek but everyone just calls me Laurra Lu. My Mom recently went to heaven. We had lived together for a long time so we were very close, she was the sweetest person you would ever want to know. The last thing I said to my Mom was. . . "You can go with the angels now." Those words are forever on my mind as well as all the beautiful memories we have together.
So one day, I decided to paint an angel.
After that, I did have a lot of doubt as to what I should do. I prayed to God and asked my Mom if she could help me.
The next day, we drove into town to look for some odds and ends and bits for my next painting. We walked down the street, the first shoppe we came to was a quilt store. Mom really loved quilts. We then went into Grace place, a charity store. I thought I might find some odds and ends and bits for my next painting.
The first place I went is the book shelf and picked up an old bible and another book. The first page that flopped open, spoke to my heart. It said, "In this very moment, I am living in the presence of God." Then went on to say. . . "Angels played an important part in bible stories, for they were God's messengers of inspiration." "Like angels, Devine ideas fill my mind and convey to me the good news. . .The spirit of God is reborn in me now." A broad smile came to my face.
I walked over to my husband and showed him the page and as he smiled, I looked past him and on a shelf, a vase with the very same decoration, colors and swirls of my first angel painting sat. My eyes traveled up word to see a tray of painted angels above the vase.
If there was any doubt in my mind as to what I should be doing, there certainly wasn't any more. God and Mom's love showed me the way and answered my prayer.
