I wrote this short book on gang banging to show the youth today how not to destroy their future. I truly want to see all our youth prosper and educate themselves with knowledge plus action to inquire wealth.
The events are true and actually happen and I lived each experience. If you have a brain, you won't want to gang bang or be gang banging after reading this literature.
I am writing this to break some myths about the gangbanging lifestyle and to shed light on the youngsters that think they want to take the route of gangbanging.
I was born and raised with my father and mother in the same house until the death of my father late in my life. They loved me truly. I also have brothers and sisters that love me dearly also.
So what lead me to banging and forming my own Crip gang? Television and the streets of Los Angeles in which I ran.
While growing up in a home where violence was not permitted nor could we watch violence on T.V., I would sneak late at night to watch television. Most of the shows late night would be about some gangster
Some music videos at night would show the entertainer portraying a gangster or pimp with lots of money, fast cars and women surrounding them. Watching this type of television made me want those things and the only way I saw it happening was to be a gangster or pimp.
As I grew older of course the movies and videos changed and more money was being made by thugs in the entertainment industry, or portraying thugs.
By the time I was 16 I had affiliated myself with a gang. The lifestyle began and I didn't know at that time what happens everyday in a gangbanging lifestyle. The videos never showed me a negative side.
Then the movie "Colors" came out. I must say the movie had a negative effect on me. The movie made me want to bang harder, so I did. I remember leaving my parents place looking very neat and my pants pulled up and shirt tucked in.
As soon as I got off the block I would sag my pants, pull out my shirt out and put my colored bandana in my left back pocket for the public to see.
Well, not only was I dumb for displaying my gang colors to other gangs, I also displayed them to the police. As a new gang member that the CRASH Unit Police (Gang Police) has never seen, they made it a point to introduce themselves.
Believe me, you will see alot of the CRASH Unit. The way they usually introduce themselves is by pulling up next to you or cutting of your path while walking with their car.
They will have you put your hands on the hood of the car, have you spread your legs and search you for weapons.
After embarrassing you in public they then want all your information so you can be officially added in the gang files. CONGRADULATIONS!!..you have made it to the dumbest criminal log book.
I got a chance to witness what happens after you are added to the police gang files. You basically have volunteered your privacy away. If you plan on spray painting your gang and nick name on a wall, you better think again.
Everytime you spray paint, you can bet the police will be at your place the next day, if not, they have started to build your file for your future court date and jail time. I say that as a statement and fact!
You must know as a human being that you have a structure. a spirit. You must keep your spirit from sickness and destruction to endure and become the person you really want to be.
The rest of my story is in my book "United We Stand".
United We Stand ... the book about Frost life. A true story.
