This lovely table takes its design from an 1820's table in my home. Crafted from 7/8" thick lumber the top is glued up and then splined to give the appearance of a two or three board top that are 22-24" in total width with leaves down. The leaves are a generous 7-8" yielding a surface open of approximately 40". Seats six easily and eight in a pinch.
Legs are 2" and made with what I call an octagon chamfer giving the leg a shape while holding it's dimension to the floor. The legs are mortised into the frame and fixed with wooden pegs.
Leaf supports (2 per leaf) are positioned to slide out from the frame giving the leaf a strong support base without the ugliness of metal leaf supports.
Single drawer on end for storage.
Piece is finished with my own hand-mixed stain and then coated with three coats of an oil/poly blend for beauty and durability.
Piece can be shipped anywhere in continental U.S. and Canada from Minneapolis - please write with your location so I can give you a better quote.
