The bare wood is tan to yellowish in color. When properly finished, it is quite smooth and beautiful to look at with its visible grain and irregularities of pattern. The Chinaberry tree often attacked by a tropical mistletoe. After this mistletoe dies off, it leaves a perfect attachment imprint on the host stem. This intricately sculpted impression is called the wooden rose. The nearby wood is darkened , creating interesting contrasts and color.
By pruning the infected branches and creating art we can help the ancient trees to live out a longer, healthy life.

Each carving has been hand finished using liquid wood wax. All fine wood carvings just like furniture, must be nourished at times. Use a coat of neutral color liquid wax, or wood oil once or twice a year. Buff with soft cloth if needed.
