Attractive and finely detailed original antique print illustrating the brain, cerebral nerves, spinal cord etc. of man. Printed c. 1880. With wide borders not shown. Over 100 years old and in very good condition. Ready to frame or can be digitised for use in web sites, blogs or other projects.
General Information: Lithography - In its simplest form the surface of a stone is smoothed, washed and dried. A drawing in a greasy chalk or ink is then made directly onto the stone. The stone is wetted and then ink is applied. The ink is attracted to the greasy image but is repelled by the wet stone. The image can be transferred to a sheet of damp paper. More sophisticated images can be applied to the prepared stone by means of transfer paper.
