The man you love to hate Erich Von Stroheim returns to the screen as the villainous Professor Franz Mueller. In this early version of Curt Siodmak's "Donovan's Brain" professor Mueller
becomes obsessed with brain tissue. He contends that the brain can be kept alive after death and the thoughts and memories of that mind can be passed on to a new owner of the experimental brain. After very wealthy financier Warren Horace Donavan is badly injured in a plane crash in the Arizona desert, Mueller decides this is the perfect opportunity to conduct his experiments on the brain. Kept alive by unnatural means the brain begins to gain influence over the Mad Doctor's lab assistants with horrific results.
