Do I have the correct memory module?

* Memory modules can be interchangeable among many different laptops and desktops . Check your operating manual for your laptop and desktop 's memory specifications.
* Verify the specifications of the memory, as well as, the size of the memory module.
* Our descriptions include each make and models memory speed and size.

* Some listings will be more specific to the model they are directly associated with as supplied in a new system by the manufacturer. These are the same memory modules as above and are interchangeable between many different laptops and desktops.



Buying DDR Memory


recommend that you buy memory that matches your system. e.g. If you have a PC2700 system you should buy a PC2700 module. Please consult your computer handbook/ support services to confirm the type you require

DDR Modules will not fit or work in older SDRAM (PC66/PC100/PC133) systems.

Please check if your system requires memory in identical pairs (e.g. Dual Channel). In this case you will need to order two modules of the same capacity.

DDR memory for servers is likely to be ECC and/or Registered.

Memory is designed to be backward-compatible, so generally speaking, you can safely add faster memory to a computer that was designed to run slower memory. However, your system will operate at the speed of the slowest module or system component (the "lowest common denominator" effect).

One thing to keep in mind is that the memory does need to be the same type-for example, SDRAM cannot be mixed with DDR, and DDR cannot be mixed with DDR2. We recommend that you use the Crucial Memory Advisor™ or System Scanner tools to find the right memory for your computer.

Returns
