Salvia pulchella 4 inch Pot Plant RARE Chiapas Mexican SAGE
Salvia pulchella
Native to Chiapas region of Mexico, Salvia pulchella is rarely seen in cultivation. A magnificient woody perennial that blooms almost year round here in California. The cherry-red, hairy flowers are unusual in that they usually develop in group of 6 in a whitish bract-like structure at the tip of the flowering stalk, 3 to the left and 3 to the right. Then they emerge, and the bract drops off. In the US, S. pulchella is sometimes confused with S. adenophora but once you have seen this unique feature of S. pulchella, you will know how to tell them apart. Full sun to part shade. 6 feet tall and wide. Any well-drained soils.

This is for a live multi-branched plant in a 4" pot. Rarely set seeds, grown from cuttings.
