*ITEM: HOLMES EDWARDS Rialto Plated Seafood Cocktail Fork 1894
*MANUFACTURER: Holmes & Edwards
*PATTERN: Rialto
*TYPE: Seafood & cocktail fork
*YEAR: Pat. Apr. 94 stamped onto the back. Hard to read. Year was authenticated on a silverplate web site.
*HALLMARKS: Appears to be a cross +, XIV, Holmes Edwards, Pat Apr 94 .
*MATERIAL: Brass maybe. The magnet doesn't stick so it's not steel or iron. Appears to be plated with silver.
*MEASURES: 6" Long
*CONDITION: Some tarnish. fork has its dings, knicks, scratches, marks and wear from being used and shuffled. Looks like there is some plating wear on the top of the handle and can be seen in the picture. Lots of tarnish. No other major abnormalities noticed upon inspection. The date marking reads: "Pat Apr 9 " . The date marking is suppost to read: "Pat Apr 94". The number 4 did not stamp or mold into the fork to well.
