I PURCHASED THIS FROM A NORTH FLORIDA ESTATE SALE AND IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. I AM AFRAID THAT MY PICTURES JUST DON'T DO THIS PIECE JUSTICE. IT IS FANTASTIC!! IT MEASURES A LARGE 2 FT WIDE AND APPROXIMATELY 9" TALL. IT WAS MADE IN TWO PIECES THE HEAD AND NECK BEING ONE PIECE AND BODY BEING THE SECOND. THERE IS REMNANTS OF WHAT LOOKS LIKE A SQUARE CUT NAIL ABOUT 1 INCH BELOW THE NECK. THE GLASS EYES REMIND ME OF TEDDY BEAR EYES FROM THE EARLY PART OF THE LAST CENTURY. ONE HAS A DING OVER THE PUPIL. IT HAS HEAVY PAINT DONE IN SUCH A WAY TO GIVE IT ALMOST A TEXTURED LOOK. WHEN YOU TURN THE GOOSE OVER YOU CAN SEE THE 1 1/2" THICK SLAB OF WOOD THAT THIS WAS MADE OF. IT LOOKS LIKE LAYERS OF DARK AND LIGHTER WOOD..PERHAPS THIS STARTED ITS LIFE OUT AS A PIECE OF FURNITURE OR A DOOR. I AM SELLING AS IS SO BE SURE TO ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE looking.
