We buy our collectible Antique clothes pressing irons from a source that FINDS them & then cleans them up to look nearly MINT! He's done a wonderful job on this 1936 Sears Maid of Honor Gas Iron! Some surface rust can be seen but it's mostly just to the interior (but considering the age of this piece it's amazing). The tank is BRASS with what appears to be a graniteware type overlay. The wooden handle is in IMMACULATE condition with its' Original paint. The iron is marked as follows: "Patent NO. 2065492 DEC. 22 1936 MADE IN U.S.A. Maid of Honor Sears 371, 5853 GASONLINE IRON". There are directions printed ON the right side of the tank on how to safely use this iron (although I'm selling it as for display ONLY as I wouldn't suggest anyone try to actually use one of these old GAS irons!).
