HOLMES & EDWARDS - Jelly Server, Soup Spoon & Knife - CENTURY Pattern (SILVERPLATE 1923)
A Solid Jelly Server, Round Bowl Soup Spoon (Gumbo) and French Hollow Knife crafted in the Century Pattern (1923) in Super Silverplate by the former Holmes & Edwards Silver Co., Bridgeport, CT. The Century Pattern (1923) features Silverplate, 1923 and No Monograms.
Solid Jelly Server - measures 6 3/4" long and the Bowl measures 2 1/4 long and 1 7/8" wide. It has no dents, dings, or pitting but does show light to moderate cleaning and use scuffs and light plate wear. It bears the Holmes & Edwards mark and Super Plate. (Photos 1 - 5)
Round Bowl Soup Spoon (Gumbo) - measures 7 1/8" long and the Bowl measures 2 1/4 long and 1 7/8" wide. It has no dents, dings, or pitting but does show moderate cleaning and use scuffs and light plate wear. It bears the Holmes & Edwards mark and Super Plate. (Photos 6 - 9)
French Hollow Knife - measures 9" long and the Blade measures 5 1/4" long. It has no dents or dings but does show moderate cleaning and use scuffs, light plate wear and some pitting at the end of the Blade. It does not bear a Holmes & Edwards mark but is marked "INSILCO Stainless" on the Blade. (Photos 10 - 12)
This Jelly Server, Soup Spoon and Knife are not new and have been used. They are offered "As-Is, As-Found". Holmes and Edwards Silver Co. was established in Bridgeport, CT in 1882 and was purchased by International Silver Co., Boston, MA in 1898.
