(1182) This is an OLD TWO Quart Galvanized Metal Oil Can. Embossed on One Side "NYC-PA APPROVED TYPE Q, 10....underneath that is a pyramid design and embossed into the center is 61 MINN". Embossed on the Other side it reads "TWO QUARTS". Embossed in the INSIDE at the top it reads "FILL TO POINT". Pretty cool old piece of Petroliana. Measures 10 1/2" tall, 9 1/2" wide side to side from the handle to the end of the spout. Measures 5 1/8" wide across the bottom of the can.
The usual dings to the body to be expected and indicative of age. NO holes though. I did fill this can up with liquid and sat it next to me while I was listing it.
While it has NO holes, I did notice some slight slow leakage through one of the base seams. That could be tightened up or repaired completely should you want to. Otherwise it's in wonderful display condition.
