Mimosa Pudica has been and remains to be one of the most fascinating plants in that it has a unique ability to fold its leaves when touched or disturbed. It remains unknown why this plant has developed this interesting behavior, perhaps it is a defensive mechanism.
Apart from this fascinating behavior of folding its leaves and moving its branches, this species also displays beautiful pink powder-puff like blooms throughout most of the year. These flowers then develop into little pods that the new seeds eventually grow in, which can be seen in the image if you look closely.
