Runes were used by the Nordic and Germanic tribes of Northern Europe for divination and later to phonetecally represent language . Each rune corresponds to a letter in the alphabet, and each has it's own meaning. When used as a full set, one can cast runes as one would read tarot cards. Because each rune means something specific, they can be individually used to bring about it's quality.
This pendant is a hand cast pendant I had sculpted, made in a rubber mold, and cast in high quality pewter. This pendant is about 3/4" in diameter and comes with a pewter bead and cord.
You are bidding on an EIHWAZ rune pendant. It corresponds to the letter I (some runes have two letters). To the Nordic people, this rune symblizes yew tree. Yggdrasil, the Great Tree that form the nine worlds of men and spirits in mythology, is a yew tree. The yew also supplied the Norse with flexible but strong timbers for their longbows. This is the rune of protection.
Other meanings are: defense, reliability, dependability, trustworty. Wear this rune if you set your sights on a target, and need some help to grasp your goal.
