You're looking at a Silver Dime Card, the second of a series that will feature images from historic US Silver Certificates, printed on a 3 3/8" by 2 1/8" plastic card (standard credit card size, thickness and stiffness). It contains a pre-1965 US Dime in an acrylic coin capsule that fits into the card. The capsule can be easily separated from the card and the coin removed for inspection.
On the face of this card we feature a detail from the $5 "Indian Chief" Silver Certificate of 1899, featuring an image of Running Antelope, of the Oncpapa Sioux. An acrylic capsule containing a pre-1965 Roosevelt dime (90% Silver, year of our choice, circulated), fits into the card, with the obverse of the coin visible.
On the back, we include the following text: "Any Roosevelt Dime dated 1964 or older is composed of 90% pure silver. There are .0723 Troy ounces of silver in each dime, making them worth considerably more than their face value."
We then list a table with the value of a pre-1965 dime for Silver prices from $30 to $65, in $5 increments.
On the bottom is a description of the image on the front of the card: "A detail from the $5 "Indian Chief" Silver Certificate of 1899, featuring a likeness of Ta-to'-ka-in'-yna-ka, also known as Running Antelope, of the Oncpapa Sioux"
The reverse of the encapsulated dime is also visible.
This card is an excellent educational tool about the value of Real Money, and how our US Dollar has been degraded over time.
It's a great gift item (Think Christmas Stocking Stuffer!), a great barter item, and a nice way to accumulate some physical silver in an easily recognizable form. And with the Silver Price Table, the value of any pre-1965 Roosevelt dime is easily determined at a glance.
